Privacy policy and terms of use for the ArcPace app. Both are also in the app under Settings.

In short
ArcPace is made by one independent developer ("I"). It has no accounts, analytics, ads, tracking or server of its own. What it knows about you stays on your device, and I never see it.
Kept on your device
Your settings, saved cities, the latest forecast, your last location (and the place each waiting evening notification is for), whether your Apple ID has tipped, and which days you opened the app, so it asks for a rating rarely. If you allow Health access, a summary of your runs from the last sixteen weeks (time, distance, average and highest heart rate, and a GPS route where one exists), plus any location you give a run. The widget shows your city and weather on your Home or Lock Screen.
This is included in your device backups if you use them. Deleting the app removes it.
What leaves your device
Only what a forecast needs, with no name, email or account attached; like any internet request, each carries your IP address.
- Your location, only while you use the app, goes to Apple Weather for the forecast (Open-Meteo if Apple Weather is unavailable). No location history is kept.
- To score a past run, its approximate place and hour go to Apple Weather. Nothing else about the run goes.
- A city you search for goes to Open-Meteo. Turning a location into a town name uses Apple's location services.
- A run picture you share goes only where you send it.
- Tips are processed by Apple. I never see your name, card or Apple ID.

Health data
ArcPace only reads Apple Health (workouts, distance, heart rate, running speed and routes) to show how weather affected your runs. It never writes to Health, and never uploads, shares, sells or uses your health data for advertising.
This is also the consumer health data notice some U.S. states require: the data above, used only to show you your own runs, sourced from Apple Health on your device, shared with no one. Revoke access in Health → Sharing → Apps and Services → ArcPace, or delete the app.
Your choices and rights
I hold no personal data about you, so your rights are exercised on your device: turn off Location or Health access in iOS Settings, or delete the app to erase everything. ArcPace is not directed at children under 13.
Changes and contact
If what leaves your device changes, this policy and its date will change too. Questions: arcpace.app@gmail.com. If you email me, I use your address only to reply.
Terms of use

Agreement
These terms are between you and the developer of ArcPace ("I"), who publishes it on the App Store. By using ArcPace you agree to them and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which wins where the two conflict.

Not medical advice; your own risk
ArcPace gives general guidance for healthy adults. Its scores, pace estimates, heat flags and suggestions are estimates from weather models, not medical advice or a clearance to run. It does not know your health or how you feel. Talk to a doctor if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or are new to or returning to running.
Forecasts come from third parties (Apple Weather and Open-Meteo) and can be wrong or unavailable; past-run locations may be approximate. Storms, heat, cold, air quality, traffic, terrain and darkness are your judgement. You run at your own risk: if you feel unwell, stop and get help, whatever the app says.
Tips
ArcPace is free and complete without tipping. Tips are voluntary Apple in-app purchases that unlock cosmetic extras only, and refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
Use and ownership
Use ArcPace for your own personal, non-commercial running. Do not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute it, or use it to send automated requests to weather providers. The app is mine; weather data belongs to its providers; your data is yours.
No warranty; limited liability
ArcPace is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. I am not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from using it or relying on it, including decisions about whether, when or where to run. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of what you paid in tips in the prior twelve months and ten US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits; there, they apply as far as the law permits.
If a claim is brought against me because you broke these terms, you agree to cover its reasonable costs.
Changes, law and contact
I may change ArcPace or these terms, or stop offering it; continuing to use it means you accept the current terms. They are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law where you live gives you other rights. If any part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Questions: arcpace.app@gmail.com.
